About Eli's BBQ - Riverside
Located at 3313 Riverside Dr, Cincinnati, OH 45226, Eli's BBQ - Riverside operates as a chinese bbq serving Cincinnati in Ohio. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as diner, takeout restaurant, restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Cincinnati; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Ohio are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 amβ8 pm. 513 Fence was in the East End installing an aluminum fence and we were looking for some hot food for lunch. We googled nearby restaurants, and Eliβs was close, so we all jumped in the truck and headed that way. We couldnβt believe how good the atmosphere was and how good the food was. 5 stars, the pulled pork was amazing, as was the jalapeΓ±o cornbread. I personally donβt like beef ribs but am now a fan.

I ordered the pulled pork sandwhich, ribs, mac n cheese w pork cracklins and jalapeno cornbread. The sandwhich was frankly the best pulled pork sandwich I have ever had. I find that a lot of pulled pork dries out fairly easily but Eli's was tender and moist. The bun toasted on a griddle w a bit of butter was a nice touch. Could have definitely used some onions or pickled red onions but thats neither here nor there. Truly a great simple sandwich. The ribs were also phenomenal. I was honestly skeptical when I saw them but at first bite I was reminded looks can be deceiving. What looked like a dried out bark was actually the result of a rib that was seemingly flash fried right at the moment of perfect doneness. You will crunch through a smoky outer bark into a tender juicy perfectly done rib. The mild sauce really shined on these. The mac n cheese was solidly executed but unremarkable, but this show already had enough stars so I wasnt upset. I probably wouldn't order the pork cracklins again but they weren't bad. Cornbread was also a solid if safe rendition. Would have preferred it to be warmed and served with butter but again these are minor quibbles. I really wanted to try thei

We love Eli's BBQ and always will. If they came out this way, they'd retire in a week. We drive 2.5 hours one way just to enjoy this wonderful food. I love smoked meats and bbq. I've had barbecue from Michigan to South Carolina, and nobody compares to Eli's. The dirty mashed potatoes, oh my word. The mac and cheese was so cheesy! And the wings!! The cole slaw!! Not one thing on the menu is bad. Everything is worth every single penny. If I could work there for long enough to learn how to do it myself, I swear I would. Best. Barbecue. Ever. It is like I'm eating love.

This place is absolutely worth going out of your way for. The staff is welcoming, there was hardly any wait, and most importantly the food is phenomenal! The pulled pork was tender and juicy. The ribs are really unique. I've never had anything quite like this. They seem like they are made with a dry rub, cooked until perfectly tender, cut into single ribs, and then the sides are seared. It has a crisp almost like a very tender bacon. All the sides we tried were delicious. I've had a lot of disappointing mac and cheese from other restaurants. This was wonderfully gooey and cheesy. The jalapeno cornbread and jalapeno grits are amazing too. The place has a fantastic atmosphere with a pavilion next door with picnic table seating. This is the perfect place to enjoy dinner on a warm evening.
